What an incredible year I have had! I don't know if you have read my previous blog about setting up in 2017 as a Ribble Valley based, Lancashire newborn and family photographer or not? If you haven't, the really short version is.... at the back end of 2016, I decided to pull my finger out and make my dream of being a photographer become a reality. I started to build my portfolio by doing a couple of model calls and charging minimal at the start. I went on a couple of mentoring courses which then led me in to meeting loads of other photographers; some of which are now good friends of mine.

Anyway, in the summer of 2017, I decided I wanted to get in to couples and wedding photography. Again, I did a couple of model calls for local couples and off I went. From there, I booked on a wedding mentoring with Kathryn (she is the one that I'd been on her newborn workshop). On the first session, she set me the challenge of arranging my own styled shoot and doing it. I went home and contacted a local bridal shop, florist and venue. A friend came round for a coffee a day or two later. I quickly roped her and her lovely partner in. I was on a roll! I think Kathryn was quite surprised at how quickly I got it arranged. Anyway, the day of the styled shoot came and it was raining! Typical. Rebecca and Andrew were total troupers though and we got some lovely images.

From there, I saw that Rachel (the marketing mentor from my newborn blog) was organising a wedding workshop along side some other amazing wedding photographers. I attended that too. Myself and my husband were the bride and groom models in the morning. That was a fantastic experience as I was able to see it all from the brides perspective too. In the afternoon, I was able to photograph the other models and get involved in those sessions. This was a great experience. Rachel and the team had paid loads of attention to detail. I LOVE detail!

Anyway, I went on to do other couple shoots, finish off my mentoring with Kathryn and second shoot some weddings in Lancashire and Cheshire.

Like I said, I am based in the beautiful Ribble Valley and cover Lancashire, Cumbria, Manchester, Cheshire and Yorkshire. I will consider further afield, just ask. My diary is open for 2018 and 2019. I have already got several booked in for each. I am so excited to see where 2018 takes me.

Wedding photography starts from just £600. Please contact me if you'd like to know further details, discuss over a coffee or book a date.

Happy New Year!
