Ribble Valley & Lancashire Wedding and Newborn Photographer.
On New Years Day this year, I opened up my emails to a lovely email off Kelly asking if I was available for her Manchester wedding in April. As luck would have it, I was! We exchanged emails back and forth, Kelly and Mark had checked out my website and the day after, I was booked! I was so happy. I had taken my first full days wedding photography of 2018 on day 2! Yippee!
Kelly had told me how they had met through her brother (much to his dismay) and mutual friends 12 years previously. In 2016, the couple were approaching their 10 year anniversary. Mark was feeling the pressure due to all their friends getting married and starting families. They had gone on holiday to New York to celebrate Mark turning 30. Whilst they were having a drink in an Irish bar, Mark popped the question! Clearly it was time for a double celebration. How lovely?
Fast forward a few months and their big day was here. I set off from my home in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire down to Kelly and Mark's home address in Urmston, Manchester. Kelly and the girls were getting ready there and the boys were getting ready at Worsley Park, Marriott Hotel. Anyway, I was with the ladies for bridal preparation. Kelly was with her two beautiful bridesmaids and her lovely Mum. They were all having their hair and makeup done, whilst having a giggle with a glass or two of fizz. Well, why not? I was working, so I settled for a lovely cup of coffee. If you know me, you'll know I love a good old brew.
Whilst the ladies were being pampered, I set to work in shooting the action. I took loads of different photographs of them getting ready and also of all the details; the bride's gorgeous gown, the bridesmaids' dresses, flowers, veil, shoes, perfume and even a little framed photo that Mark had left for Kelly to ask if she was sure she wanted to marry him! Hilarious.
Kelly's brother and Dad arrived just as preparation were coming to an end. She got in to her wedding dress and came down stairs. It was emotional! Her Dad looked so proud and shed a tear or two. We were now ready to go.
Myself and Laura (my second photographer) set off to Worsley Court House to meet Mark and the guests. I like to arrive in plenty of time so that I can get some lovely images of the venue, guests and most importantly, the groom and groomsmen.
Kelly, her Dad and her bridesmaids arrived. They looked amazing! Her Dad looked so proud as he walked her down the isle.
The wedding ceremony was now done and Kelly and Mark were now husband and wife! We all went outside for a handful of formal photographs before I took the newly weds off on their own for their couples portraits. I love this bit. It is my favourite part of the day. It gives the couple time to relax, breathe, chat and I get to be creative. Once this was done, I returned the happy couple back to their guests before their wedding breakfast and speeches (which were hilarious).
It was now time for the evening reception, cake cutting and first dance.
It was a fantastic day all round. The staff at Worsley Court House were all really accommodating and helpful. Kelly, Mark, their friends and family were so lovely and welcoming. My second photographer, Laura from Laura Duggleby Photography was awesome. Thank you to you all xx
