Ribble Valley & Lancashire Wedding and Family Photographer.
I totally love being a Lancashire based wedding photographer. I have met so many lovely couples during consultations and shooting weddings. I have also met so many fantastic wedding suppliers along the way. Some that I have ended up becoming good friends with.
Around Easter last year, I organised a styled shoot with my friend, Jo from A Cake Occasion. A styled shoot is where a group of wedding suppliers come together, pick a theme and make a mock up wedding. We use models for this. Sometimes they are actually a couple, sometimes not. In fact, we have used lone models too. Anyway, the shoot went really well and we started arranging another one straight away! We were so excited!
So, that is how we all came together to make the dream team! As soon as we had finished the last shoot, we began planning again! We knew we wanted a wedding venue with a difference. We wanted something a bit quirky, fun with great outdoor space. I knew I wanted a pair of funky wellies involved! So, we decided on boho for our theme. That is when we knew that The Wellbeing Farm, Edgworth was perfect! Jo and I nipped across the month before to get some ideas of what we were going to do. When we went last month, it was a beautiful day. The sun was out and we were there without our coats on. Roll forward to the day of our shoot….. Storm Gareth was here! It was dark, raining and so windy! But it didn’t put us off. We just cracked on with it.
Nikki and Danielle made a start on Rachel and Megan’s hair and makeup. Jo, Rachael and Laura set up the wedding cake table and another table with a hooped table plan, flowers and candles. Wow, it looked amazing!
Soon, both of our model brides were ready and they looked out of this world! Chester, the Old English Sheepdog had also arrived. He was super excited to be in on the action. But not before lots of cuddles and kisses from all of us!
Jo and I had taken along food and drinks for us all to share. Jo had even made us a chocolate fudge cake for after our lunch. I couldn’t wait to sample a slice of that. It was incredible!
After a quick pit stop, we were ready to go again. Rachel and Megan were great together. They had literally only met each other that morning. If you didn’t know that though, you would have thought that they had been best friends forever. I love natural images and these two nailed it. Rachel kept apologising for laughing. She needn’t. I love laughing images. They are so much fun.
Rachel knew that I’d booked to come to The Wellbeing Farm due to the donkeys, llamas and alpacas. Once the rain had stopped, she was more than happy to go out. It was literally blowing a gale! We walked up one of the tracks to get a shot that I wanted by a fence. It was far too windy and was never going to work. Rachel wanted to wait for a dip in the wind, but I wouldn’t let her as she was getting blown to bits. Brave lady! So we went back down to shelter with the animals in the barn. Augustus took a bit of a liking to Rachel’s flower crown at one point!
It was now time to go back inside. Thank goodness! We just had to make use of the funky sofas, milk churn bar stools and straw bales whilst there. Both ladies were total legends and I can’t thank them enough for their time yesterday.
I totally love our little team and I can’t wait for our next styled shoot. You know how I said that once we finish one shoot, we start planning our next? Well this time, we are planning our next two!!
Massive shout out to all of our team. You are an incredible bunch of ladies and I can’t wait to work with you all again!
